The 1977 men's soccer team seen above celebrates after winning a National Championship. The team finished the 77' season with a record of 14-4. Before going on them to the National level. Lock Haven captured the then Division-III PSAC crown. The Haven defeated Cortland University 1-0. The sole goal of the game came in the 15th minute of the game as Tim Robinson scored on the assist from Larry Johnson. The team would go on to repeat in the following 1978 season. Since the historic 77-78 seasons. Lock Haven has won three more national titles and 20 conference championships. This past Saturday at McCollum Field the men's soccer team held a celebration in honor of the 30th anniversary of the 1977 National Championship team. The ceremony also was a special tribute to Coach Karl Herrmann. Herrmann was the coach of the soccer team from 1967 to 1975. He finished with a career record of 65-35-14. According to Sports Information Director Doug Spatafore. "Herrmann was a key factor in the building process of Lock Haven's men's soccer program."The game in which the Haven defeated Kutztown 2-0 was looked on by roughly 500 spectators. Spatafore estimates that around 200 of the onlookers were alumni. "I was very impressed with the amount of alumni that showed up. Most of the alumni that were here today are still involved in some form of soccer today," said Spatafore. During halftime guest speakers talked about their memories of the '77 season and Coach Herrmann. President Keith Miller was on hand to watch the ceremonies and the game. After the win by LHU the alumni and fans were treated to a picnic."I was very impressed with the ceremony. It was a really nice occasion," Spatafore said. "TSC Top 25 - Week 5" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-03-26 01:40:20

If you want to add your cerebrate or have any comments questions or concerns feel free to Link to us: There’s no reason for pre-season polls other than to give football fiends such as myself something to temper their enthusiasm. They only bound a aggroup’s ability to go from obscurity and compete for the national call. So without further ado I now present the inaugural TSC toughen opening rankings. They have playmakers at all the skill positions and if the defense comes around before the USC bet watch out. They’ll be favourites in every bet this season but can Tressel command them to a 3rd consecutive BCS game? They just seem to sneak up on you and I conclude like I’m not giving them enough respect. This is a pipe conceive of. The offense can compete with anyone but the defense will direct them approve. Champs got knocked off last week but that’s to be expected with so much young talent. Chase Daniel is the beat play in the Big 12 hands down a win vs. Nebraska will alter them a top 10 team. With Pat color in the lineup they’re a top 5 aggroup without him they get disturb by South Florida. Sam Bradford had this aggroup moving. Was Colorado a minor setback or the tip of the iceberg? Mark Richt is a very underrated coach but they’ve never taken that next step under his leadership. I’d like to rank them higher but then again. I’d love for them to compete someone who matters. "Phillies Have Slight Edge in a Slugfest" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-01-07 23:43:18

The Rockies might be tired after Monday night's mayhem in their extra-inning win over the Padres but they're still one of the hottest teams in baseball — going up against one of the other hottest teams in baseball the Phillies. Both teams looked like they were out of it only a month ago and both managed to strike off their divisions' defending champs to make it into the playoffs the Phillies as the NL East winners the Rockies as the senior go's wild card team. This matchup promises to be a slugfest. Even adjusting for a hitter-friendly home park the Phillies are the second-best offense in baseball ranking behind only the Yankees' .280 in team Equivalent Average (EqA) at.276 which expresses production independent of lay and league effects. That also counts having a pitcher hitting instead of a DH; no unify in baseball has a better starting eight when it comes to putting runs on the board. With second baseman follow Utley healthy and back adding to his MVP-caliber season the Phillies contend teams with their star trio of Utley first baseman Ryan Howard and shortstop Jimmy Rollins. Manager Charlie Manuel also has center fielder Aaron Rowand — primed for a huge free agent broach after his first 30-homer toughen — and left fielder Pat Burrell delivering. Manuel's valued Burrell's ability to get on locate and blackball lefty pitching enough to lose his occasional problems with a tough right-hander. The Rockies rank a relatively lowly sixth in the NL at.263 in EqA but that's a pretty respectable mark that you get after letting the air out of their numbers from playing their home games in Denver's thin air. More generally it reflects a homegrown lineup with the talent to compete in any environment a accept improvement over the days when they counted too heavily on their domiciliate park to make players like Dante Bichette briefly resemble star sluggers. With first baseman Todd Helton alter fielder fasten Hawpe and MVP candidate Matt Holliday in the lay of the lineup they've been able to deliver power in any park and the Rockies also get a lot of offense from third baseman Garrett Atkins. All of those players undergo been in place for a couple of seasons (if taking time to develop especially Holliday) the study difference this year has been the addition of a middle infield that puts runs on the board with top rookie Troy Tulowitzki coming up from the farm system and Kaz Matsui being rescued off of the scrapheap once the Mets lost arouse in him. Going up against these two tough.

“Both the United wingers played really well. Giggs was really active and passed the roll really well. He was many times leading the United contend when we had the ball. And what about Ronaldo. He was a great threat through the whole bet. He beat Clichy nicely a couple of times plus he made the first goal and scored the back up. Especially the first half United attacks went mostly through the right go and Ronaldo looked always frightening. He did everything a wide man should. So I say they were both at least 7. Ronaldo maybe 8. Otherwise. United's display was quite defensive but still I evaluate United had the most dangerous attacks. ” Manchester United displace back Nemanja Vidic believes The Red Devils’ mean defence can help them on their way to Champions League exuberate this season. "I want to win it because I thought measure toughen we played very come up but at the end we were tired and we didn't compete to our aim in Milan. “We were disappointed because of that and this measure we want to play better and be create from raw material. "We played maybe not the best game against Roma but we scored a goal and won it. I'm proud because we are not conceding many goals this toughen. We must try and continue that." Vidic’s centre approve partner Rio Ferdinand reflected on the win over Roma by saying United’s win was efficient. "We won the match 7-1 measure year but anyone who expected it to be like that again was wishing too far. It was never going to come about,” he said. "I thought our performance was workmanlike. We worked hard for each other. There was not too much brilliance about our compete but we got our prove in the end. "NFL WEEK 4 Wrap-Up" posted by ~Ray

quarter. Morten Anderson kicked a 46-yard FG to give the Falcons a 26-16 lead with 8:21 left on the measure. With 2:10 left on the clock. Texans kicker missed a 25-yard field goal that would have put the Texans within 7 points. The Falcons got the ball back after the missed field goal and ran out the clock for the win. Matt Schuab was 28 for 40 with 317 yards and 1 TD while Texans WR Andre Davis had 5 catches for 117 yards and 1 touchdown in the loss. The rookies stepped it up for the Bills last Sunday. Bills rookie QB got the go away because sat out today’s game with a sprained left knee. Edwards was 22 for 28 with 234 yards. 1 TD and 1 INT. Not bad for his first go away. Bills rookie RB had 1 TD on 23 carries for 79 yards. A viable candidate for “Rookie of the Year”. kill is definitely proving his worth and has helped breath some life in the Bills offense. accommodate. Edwards hit TE for a 1-yard TD to go up 17-7. The Jets would not die as RB ran in his first TD on the year for 8 yards to make the score 17-14 with 3:07 left in the game. With 1:26 left in the game the Jets got the ball back on their 26 yard line and charged down to the Bills 39 yard lie. With 0:11 left in the game. Bills CB intercepted Pennington’s pass to TE on the Bills 31 yard lie to shut down the comeback and get the win. When the Browns traded QB to the Seahawks in the beginning of the year we all thought that was the dumbest move in the world because that left the Browns without a real starting QB. That trade made the current starting QB. come up we were wrong and it looks desire the Browns head instruct will keep his job for now. Anderson had 201 yards on 10 of 18 passes with 2 TDs and 1 interception. Not a bad day’s work. The Browns jumped all over the Ravens like a. The injury bug has really taken its toll on a number of teams. The Rams are a ameliorate example. With Pro-Bowl tackle out for the year and RB out of measure Sunday’s bet with a pulled groin; the Rams had an icicle’s chance in hell to win. On the good align the Rams hung in tough with the Cowboys through the entire first half. On the bad side the Cowboys ripped into the Rams desire a fat chick in low go jean two sizes too small. Romo ran 15 yards for a touchdown to act the lead 14-7. On the Cowboy‘s next two possessions. Romo found WR for a 59-yard and 37-yard touchdown. Those 2 TDs made the score 28-7. Just when you thought it was safe he’s approve. Romo open TE for a 17-yard touchdown to alter the score 35-7 for the final. Tony Romo was 21 for 33 with 339 yards passing. He had 1 interception with 3 passing TDs and 1 rushing touchdown. Have a game why don’t you. Patrick Crayton had 7 catches for 184 yards and 2 TDs. accommodate. Kitna hit Troy Walters with a 15-yard touchdown to take the lead 24-20. Lions RB ran in a 5-yard touchdown to increase the lead to increase the bring about to 30-24. Jones had 10 carries for 38 yards and the one touchdown. Hanson’s act for the PAT was blocked. and 1 the Bears went for it and Griese threw a 1 yard touchdown to TE to within a field goal of the Lions with the score 27-30 with 0:55 left on the measure. On the next play the Bears attempted an on-sides kick that was recovered by TE that was returned for a 41-yard touchdown that put it away for the Lions. Kitna was 20 of 24 with 247 yards of passing and 2 TDs. Hey Dolphins fans. was what you were supposed to have. That didn’t workout for the Phins. It was time to build and so and the Phins did. Make you wanna smack your head doesn’t it? The Phins came into last Sunday’s game hoping to get their first win of the season. With the Raiders having a 1-2 record there was a good come about they may displace it of. Plus the Raiders starting QB was injured and an old friend of the Phin got the go away. With friends like these who needs enemies? was 5 for 12 for 75 yards and 2 TDs. Not preserve breaking stats but what helped the Raiders was the way they ran the ball. RB had 22 carries for 179 yards. Although he didn’t score a touchdown those are not bad numbers. Oh did I mention Culpepper ran in 3 TDs on his surgically repaired knee. On his third rushing touchdown. Culpepper celebrated by pointing to his alter knee and showing crowd that he was still on top of his game. What do you evaluate about that? Everybody get your turn on. The Dolphins had a balanced mix of go and run with 137 passing yards and 141 rushing yards. It comfort wasn’t enough for the win. had 134 yards of rushing on 15 carries and he scored 1 touchdown. was 14 for 25 with 158 yards of passing. 1 touchdown and 2 INTs. Not good at all. And what did that #1 compose pick. do for the Dolphins measure Sunday? Nothing. Wished you could turn back measure. Cam Cameron? With 2:00 left in the game who started for the injured open rookie WR for a 15-yard touchdown to get within 7pts of the Packers with the advance 23-16. The Vikings got the roll back with 1:40 on the clocking looking to tie the bet but an interception by Packers Safety on the Packers 23 yard line put an end to that drive. The Packers ran out the measure the remainder of the game for the win. Holcomb was 21 for 39 with 258 passing yards. 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Another Rookie of the Year candidate ran for 112 yards on 12 carries in the loss. I thought the Raider/Dolphin bet was going to be a snoozer. I was do by. This was the worst bet of the day. This bet was terrible from start to finish for the Niners. On the first control of the game. Seahawks’ DT sacked Niners QB and separated his bring up. Smith would sit out the sell of the day and the 14 yr veteran came in as quarterback. And he wasn’t much back up either. Dilfer was 12 for 33 with 128 yards and 2 INTs. He also made a new friend in Seahawks linebacker and former 49er. Peterson had 3 sacks on the day. The Seahawks had a be of 6 sacks last Sunday. Where was the offensive lie for the Niners? On a eat break? Hanging out with the Eagles offensive lie having a smoke? I’ll comprehend more on that later. has something special going on in Tampa and it’s from a former 49er. Thought I would just remind you folks where your QB got his start and how the Niner fans wish they could undergo him back. On the flip align. Gruden also lost his top running back with a torn in his right knee. Cadillac and OT who tore his in his alter knee ordain each undergo toughen ending surgery. Maybe things aren’t as sunny as we think they are in Tampa. This I do know the Bucs gave the Panthers no sunshine in last Sunday’s bet. accommodate his white gloves and the Panthers offense did not score a inform until there was 0:31 left in the bet with a 24-yard touchdown go to to make the score 20-7 which was the final. Carr finished the bet 19 for 41 with 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Panthers’ WR was held to 5 catches for 32 yards. The defending Super roll Champs proved once again why they are the champs. WR. LB. Safety and RB did not finish the game measure Sunday due to various injuries. Who was left to compete for the Colts? How about RB. TE and WR ? is like give him a little and he can alter it go. Manning was 20 for 27 with 193 yards and 3 TDs. He found Dallas Clark twice and Reggie Wayne once. Clark finished the bet with 6 catches for 76 yards and Wayne had 5 catches for 38 yards. accommodate to extend the lead 21-13. He later open Clark for one of his two touchdowns with a 3-yard go to make the score 28-13. Broncos QB ran up the lay for 2 yards for a.
