SABRES: Numminen intends to continue playing after heart surgery

As Teppo Numminen prepares for open-heart surgery to repair a faulty valve next week the Buffalo defenseman is determined to return to the ice.“It’s been quite an emotional week,” Numminen said Friday a day after the Sabres announced he ordain have surgery. “And my intend was to play for the Sabres this year and that hasn’t changed. If everything goes well.
