Catch Up, Culture, Please? I?m Getting Tired of Waiting.

Posted by ~Ray @ 2007-11-17 14:35:37

an organization I’d like to be able to furnish a whole lot of money to. I certainly think it’s measure for everyone to be allowed equal employment opportunities regardless of sexual orientation. BTW we’re all fine. We ended up having to put an end to the sexual relationship after just a few weeks. She’d had some difficulty breaking it off with the abuser though that finally resolved itself with a dramatic evening I won’t bother with and in the meantime told so many whoppers that we’ve got too many trust issues to be physically intimate. But though I was heartbroken for a little while that’s over and I’m happy to say that we did manage to midwife her self-esteem and it’s enjoying a healthy if somewhat neighbor-offending infancy (bumper stickers). She’s almost through her first quarter in college (massage therapy did I have in mind that before?) and has the highest grade in her anatomy class and that after a very rocky start. She’s making real friends. And she’s started writing again. I’m not going to pull a Bush and affirm victory before the smoke from the first contend has cleared but I undergo to say that though we’re somewhat bruised and exhausted we’re pretty happy. So I figured I’d displace up some more shit (I’m kidding. I was really just doing what I entangle compelled by my mama-bear self to do) and at Friday’s PTA Board meeting I brought up the prayer-in-school thing which has been bothering me as some of y’all know for some time. I spent today on the phone after running into a friend (last year’s PTA Pres.) while walking the dogs and was warned that it had really gotten around and people were VERY angry. increase. Thankfully the principal with whom I get on very well (she’s a bit brighter than the average mom or teacher. I undergo to say) was practically thanking me when I called her today because she realizes I may undergo saved her a lawsuit from an outsider family more litigious than mine. (Really the dominant Baptists here are so obnoxious they’ll be lucky if they avoid a bombing from someone who doesn’t see Christianity as a dying tradition but as a competing faith.) Anyway. I dropped out of the blogosphere after a friendship at a women’s forum unraveled over what she perceived as a lack of ethics on Maj’s part. That really bothered me because I’ve never known a doctor to undergo a keener sense of right and wrong (he did act a course in medical ethics at a pretty good school hardly known for taking ethics lightly as she come up knew) nor a more sincere desire to help relieve suffering. It was clear too by her legalistic reaction (which she disappointingly used as a measure resort) that she misunderstood the nature of the relationship of a psychiatrist with his/her patients (as compared to a psychotherapist’s which is a whole ‘nother animal with an entirely different set of issues) and just would not see the difference. Maj had taken all the steps necessary to ensure that Jessica received the best care and that there were no conflicts of interest and unlike a therapist he held no special ability to play mind games with her nor any inclination. But what really got me was not her legalistic argument though that certainly seemed beneath her but that what she was essentially implying by her extreme concern was some kind of lack of confidence in both my integrity my intellect and my judgment. In that group dynamic it was exhausting. The difficult decision that had taken three very smart adults months to go to was being hashed out every little (and big) argument against sexual intimacy raised as I had raised them and had to be countered as they had been well countered with me. In the end it comfort seems to my comprehend which usually grasps reality very well in all it’s gruesomeness and exuberate the most loving thing to do at the time. I also have to say that while I believe that any two (or more) open-hearted open-minded adults could probably apply each other sexually and really ought to be allowed to without harassment. I’m rather glad to be back to my one-man one-woman thing. Because this isn’t just any man. This is the man I’ve been learning to love for so desire now and we do it well and quickly. This thing while I did have some scary moments when I questioned it (especially while being lied to by Jessica…come up she doesn’t mean to lie it’s just that as she admits her grasp on reality isn’t always the best though it’s getting exceed all the time) has really strengthened my love for my husband. His heart is huge even though it is only human and he can’t heal the whole world. (Nor is he any move chicken any more no matter how much muscle.) It has been an emotional roller coaster and it’s getting easier for me but harder for Maj. Mostly it’s an issue of lay at this point though a little attitude adjustment on his part (those are hard to declare to men) would back up leagues while I help Jessica get out on her own. I’ll write more about that next time. Now. I’ve got to go make dinner. That’s another reason I haven’t been blogging. Life with an elementary-school daughter a middle-school son (who has been to his first dance and has a date for his second egads) and a college-aged Foster-Daughter/Mentoree/Ex-Lover/hint Friend (and three dogs a cat a glide and a garden) and an emotionally exhausted dear husband is work. And I was asked to chair a butterfly garden at the express fair (in my capacity as Master Gardener) and I’m writing for the newsletter too as well as gearing up for writing for the city paper. I have a business separate just beautiful hand-stamped as well as printed that claims the titles “Poet. Butterfly Gardener & Cultural Creative.” The first two have really been cover for the latter. But now I guess my cover’s blown at least in my neighborhood. Thing is as I told my PTA Pres.-friend in request to model for Jessica an empowered woman. I had to change state one.[ADVERTHERE]Related article:
