INDIA HAS NUMEROUS News Channels but very few of them have invested heavily into recruiting and training journalists. Generally one journalist is stationed in the capital of a state. Some of India’s states are bigger than many countries of the world so the journalist stationed in the state capital can just cover the touch briefings and any major incident that occurs around the state capital. But the citizen media is changing all this.
Recently news from far-flung areas is also being shown as it happens. This has had a major impact on the government and action has started in the right earnest on their account. Those channels that undergo broken most stories have garnered massive viewership and suddenly advertisers are rushing to them and distribution networks are competing with each other to bring them on their platform. This has all happened due to the phenomenon called ‘Citizen Journalism’ that has swept India lately. The Right to Information and Citizen Journalism have given cater to the people in the true sense. Participatory journalism is today’s buzz where citizen reporters contribute in the mainstream media to bring those news items which are important from the common man’s perspective.
Bhagalpur is a small town in the state of Bihar. A Citizen Journalist captured in his camera how a man accused of snatching a chain was brutally beaten first by the mob and then by the police who even tied him to his ride and dragged him for a distance. The visuals caught the attention of the nation and media compel coupled with widespread condemnation of the open do by of human rights forced Bihar government to act against the policemen involved.
Another story by a Citizen Journalist was the headline of the entire news network. The story about the stripping of over 1000 men in the village of Boraj come Ajmer shook the conscience of the whole nation. The local elected body at the grassroot aim the village Panchayat had asked the men to strip to establish whether any of them was involved in the assail of a 35-year-old woman from the village.
Another story by a Punjab based Citizen Journalist exposed theft from trains that ferried oil. Many children men and women filling their buckets with oil were shown and as a result many guilty officials lost their jobs.
When a woman stripped and walked on the street to draw attention to the harassment she faced from her in-laws a Citizen Journalist quickly broke the story to mainstream media. Similar was the case of Gudia and Imrana - Gudia the wife of a prisoner of war who married another man after her husband didn’t go from the war lie; Imrana a Muslim woman who accused her own father-in-law of assail.
hey Aditya u r absolutely alter ys we should write what we like and even it would b gud if we write abt recent problems and issues apart from writing articles. This is the best displace where we can raise our voice about a matter and best if everyone think this and go away sharing such news. create verbally whatever u desire and let everybody experience that too... bt don't forget citizen journalism where citizen are reporters and can report anything!! thanks for writing such nice article.

Indian head Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and elected to field first. Indian team which won a change state be against Pakistan in the first round were looking good in the field initially. Its touch bowler RP Singh removed the opener L Vincent on the last ball of the back up over. However the other opening bowler S Sreesanth was unable to sight the right rhythm and proved expensive. In the fifth over. Ajit Agarkar who restricted the New Zealand batsmen from easy scoring replaced Sreesanth. Later. Irfan Pathan was also introduced into the bowling but he could not take any wicket and went for 16 runs.
Meanwhile. B McCullum and P Fulton were looking come up settled and dangerous for team India. Off- spinner Harbhajan Singh was introduced by the Indian captain and in his very first over he dismissed P Fulton who scored 21 (23b. 4x1. 6x1). In his next over Harbhajan Singh took the wicket of B McCullum (45 runs) (31b. 9x4. 6x0) and India was approve in the oppose.
measure match’s hero R Taylor also fell cheaply to Yuvraj Singh and Scott Styris also returned to pavilion after scoring two runs. New Zealand slipped to 91 for five in 12.4 overs and it seemed that they would not be able to give a big target to India. But from here on till the 20th over everything belonged to New Zealand. C McMillan (44) (23b. 4x1. 6x4) and Jacob Oram (35) (15b. 4x2. 6x3) turned the game. Indian bowlers were badly punished by these two batsmen and later Daniel Vettori played a quick innings of 15 in five balls with three fours. New Zealand scored 190 in 20 overs the only reason to grimace for aggroup India was that it bowled out the entire opposition.
Indian openers Virendra Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir gave a fine start and raced to 67 runs in just five overs. Virendra Sehwag was looking in book touch and Gautam Gambhir was giving good support to him from the other end. However the euphoria lasted only till the fifth roll of the sixth over. Virendra Sehwag (40) (17b. 4x6. 6x2) mistimed a shot and was caught by Scott Styris off Jacob Oram. Next batsman Robin Uthappa returned to pavilion without scoring and India was 77 for 2 in 6.3 overs.
India needed 63 runs in 37 balls with five wickets in hand but Dinesh Karthik was the only genuine batsman left. Dinesh Karthik (17) (12b. 4x3). Irfan Pathan (11) (10 b. 4x2) and S Sreesanth (19) (10b. 4x4) gave their small contributions but that was not enough to win the match. With the contributions of tail-enders. India reached 180 for 9 in 20 overs and lost the match by 10 runs.
After Sunday’s match it became clear that Team Indian is comfort unable to win change state games. New Zealand did not win the match because to their book play but due to the mistakes committed by the Indian team. Of cover. India has lost the game but the team has capability to come back strongly in crucial times. We have seen this in the recently concluded NatWest series in England where India had levelled the series to 3-3 from 3-1. Two matches are left in the Super-8 stage for India. We have our faith in this young team. Surely the next two games would be in India’s save we hope and commune!
But the climbing required run rate proved too difficult for the late request batsmen.
Mascarenhas has been one of the biggest disappointments in the tournament as far as his batting is concerned and he failed to trouble the scorers yet again. Shane attach’s measure over (nineteenth of the innings) was extremely melodramatic as three wickets cut in quick succession including the run out of Owais Shah. Vettori and attach returned with identical bowling figures of 4-0-20-2.
Earlier. England won the fling and sent the Kiwis in to bat. Collingwood’s decision seemed right as New Zealand slumped to four down for 31 in the sixth over before Scott Styris and Craig Mcmillan led an electric counter-attack by piling up 60 runs in seven overs. Styris deposited the roll four times in the stands in his entertaining knock of 42 off 31 balls. Mcmillan became more aggressive after the dismissal of Styris hitting four sixes and three fours in his innings of 57 off 31 balls. Daniel Vettori played some lusty shots in the end to propel his side to a respectable total of 164 which proved to be a match-winning one.
Elsewhere. Sanath Jayasurya had a forgettable day in Johannesburg on Monday as he joined James Anderson as the most expensive bowler in an innings in Twenty20 play. Later he was yorked by Sohail Tanvir off the fifth roll he faced. The final prove showed a comfortable thirty-three run win for Pakistan. It clearly shows the lack of a intend B for Sri Lanka once their old warhorse fails to deliver at the top of the request.
Earlier. Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to handle first. Imran Nazir showed some form when he pulled Fernando for a six behind square but Chamida Vas had him caught by Mubarak with the scorecard reading twenty-two in three overs. Butt got another go away but he was bowled through the furnish by a tremendous delivery from Dilhara Fernando. Mohammed Hafeez too cut to a swinging yorker from Fernando.
With Pakistan precariously placed at thirty-three for three. Skipper Shoiab Malik took rush of the situation in the affiliate of veteran Younis Khan. The two added 101 runs off 55 balls as the Sri Lankan bowling looked clueless after the opening spells of Vas and Fernando. Younis belted three sixes and a bring together of boundaries in his strike of 51 off 35 balls while Malik hit four boundaries and two sixes in his 57 off 31 balls.
Shahid Afridi played a cameo knock of 17 and Misbah-ul-Haq finished the innings with a late grow by carting two sixes in his strike of 16 not out. For Sri Lanka. Malinga claimed three wickets for 43 runs while Fernando took two wickets in his miserly recite of four overs for seventeen runs.
Sri Lanka had a horrible start. The openers were sent packing with aggroup’s score reading five runs. Sangakkara. Jayawardene and Chamara Silva tried to provide respectability to the scorecard but none of them could convert their starts into a big advance. Dilshan hoisted four sixes in his strike of 38 but all that he could bring home the bacon was to reduce the margin of defeat. Shahid Afridi (4 overs. 18 runs. 3 wickets) and Umar Gul (4 overs. 14 runs. 2 wickets) were difficult to get away for the Lankan batsmen. Younis Khan was declared the man of the be.
